Birth Day Stories

Today my fifth baby turns six.

For every birthday, I decorate and make each kid their own little party to wake up to. We spend the day doing fun things. We always watch the videos from the day they were born and little faces smile big as they listen to the stories of their first moments on earth.

You see, those first moments of their life matters to them too. They want to hear about their grand entrance into this world. Having to tell them stories that broke us, hurt us, and live on in us as trauma isn’t fair to them either. Birth matters. It will always matter. We should protect and nurture it.
